So, with the Kickstarter ending soon and alpha coming out next month, I wanted to bring up the question about transportation. I have seen discussions of different types of transport on several different posts, but hopefully this discussion can serve as a main point for transportation ideas and design.

Destroyer of World Tier
Does anyone else think that $750 for a game feature is a bit high? I mean the $1000+ tiers are all things like "Meet the developers in Seattle" or "Add a new animal" non of which would directly affect gameplay. However the $750 tier does affect gameplay and has the potential to turn the game into a "I have the doomsday device because I had the money and now I rule the server" type of game. Before this tier the most expensive tier that had an effect was the $250 and $400 taming tiers, but even those didn't have as much of an effect of gameplay as the $750 does. Does anyone else think $750 for a game feature is too much? I mean I get everyone wants Eco to reach the 200k stretch goal, but is this the way to do it?
The affect of Weather and Natural Disasters
Rains, droughts, snow storms and tornadoes. Earthquakes and volcanos! Each one can cause profound affects both locally (Tornado) or globally (pollution caused by a active Volcano). Along with that:
• Rains make crop grow, and give animals water to drink.
• In drought food is scarce and maybe the animal population dies off some, and watermills are affected.
• Snow storms freeze water and again decrease animals and food sources.
• Tornados would be a more localized disturbance, but it could uproot trees or damage buildings and crops.
• Earthquakes can form cracks in the ground, that while it can destroy the ground, can also help miners find valuable minerals.
• Volcanos would have a global effect on everything in the world. Plant and animal life would be effected and would decrease in health and numbers, the ones closest too the volcano being affected the most. But, as a upside maybe fertile land is created around the volcano, in the midst of the ruins, that is great for farming.
So has there been any thoughts on weather and natural disaster (not world ending ones ) and how big ( if any ) role they will play in the eco system of Eco.
Has there been any discussion of the game having seasons in it?
Since I know 1 day real time ~ 1 year of eco time I am not sure if it would match exactly to that same time schedule, but that could be worked out. Heres one idea, Since the average game is going to last around 30 days before the meteor strikes what if every week was a season, or maybe even shorter then that, every 3 days the seasons changed? Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. Each season could have certain pros and cons, for example, Spring and summer plants grow faster, but wild fires are more common. In winter the risk of fire is lowered, but food and growing becomes a challenge. I think that would be a interesting aspect to add to the game.
Learning Unity and helping with the game.
Hi all. So I have never used the Unity game engine before, I have focused mainly on Lua, Obj-C and Swift (all for iOS), but I am going to start learning Unity just to try to help with the game as much as possible. So, any recommendations on what I should learn first and how I should learn it. From just downloading Unity and playing with it I know it is a very large program to learn and I will be honest, I'm not sure where to start. Does anyone have advice for people new to Unity, tutorials, advice or just tips for learning it.
So, to start off I have seen discussions of Animal transportation, horses and other animals like that I'm guessing. Second, I think I saw somewhere the discussion about rail travel and trains. Lastly, although Im not sure if this has been discussed, I think some sort of boat transportation would be useful. I personally think planes and such shouldn't be a priority, because they would be most likely the hardest to design and least popular mode of transport in game...
