Working on new introductions for the more unusual game elements of Eco. Let us know your thoughts!
Fixed minimap markers
Connecting to a server by ip address now also adds it to your recent servers list in the Join screen.
Saved servers (eg. recents, favorites) now also save ip address and port. This means that favorites will have a good chance of connecting, even when the master server is inaccessible.
On the Join screen, increased how many servers are processed per frame from 1 to 5.
Fixed an issue where placing a vehicle didn't set you as the owner.
Fixed an issue where you could not pick up vehicles on someone else's property.
Fixed non-LAN servers appearing in the LAN section on the Join screen
Fixed the 'Owned by' indicator in object windows - It will again say 'Unowned' if unowned, instead of 'Owned by .'
Fixed signs displaying run-off text
Fixed the text editing box for signs to show markup tags instead of previewing with them, and now it allows multi-line editing.
As long as you can upload your savegame file to your hosting server, you should be able to. So you would need to rename the savegame file if it was given a custom name like Fluffy Cloud world.eco. Then, the save files (savename.eco and savename.db) need to be renamed into game.eco and game.db and uploaded to the server.
Unfortunately, we are focused on making the Windows version stable first. After that, we would be able to work on the Mac version but as of right now, there is no time estimates that I'm able to give you. I will let the community know as soon as that changes and any new information is available.
@ShaydenMac got the same "Error". a red bar, like them on the screen. don't know why. i used the same presets like the one in the video.
i can't login on the webinterface directly, only if i click ingame on the "Run for Office" Button in the quick menue "L", i will be logged in.
if i want to create a new law, i cant click directly in the webinterface on "Propose a New Law", it shows me the red bar, too:
is it maybe a problem from the host of the server?
Can you file a bug report? It would be very helpful to see if this is something that is happening a lot. https://github.com/StrangeLoopGames/EcoIssues/issues
Thanks you so much!
"You now use your gameport instead of webport to connect, so if you used to connect to port 3001, you would now use 3000 if you used default ports."
Why is this like that? Took me much time to break the problem down to this shit. Would've been nice to show a message after the update. Opened a ticket at my hosters website for nothing. Time and money wasted, cause you are too lazy to proper inform yours costumers about major changes.
I'm very sorry you wasted your time, however, this was literally the first line in the changelog and the changelog was posted here and every other social media channel that we have.
I would suggest first reading the changelogs or contacting support in the future.
Yes, if you're playing it through steam. Click on the game in your library, then properties and then the Beta Tab. From there you'll see a drop-down list of the various versions. You can click on 7.4.4 from there and it will revert the server to that version.
Yes! All ideas and feedback are very much appreciated. Thank you!
Thank you for the thoughtful post. You have a lot of great ideas there, many of which mirror other players and some of which we are already looking into incorporating into the game in the near future. It would help us greatly if you added each suggestion to our Github. https://github.com/StrangeLoopGames/EcoIssues/issues
We really appreciate you and your support!
Horses used to be the muscle of Pre-Steam-Engine Civilizations, I think they would make a perfect addition to the game. The tailor would play a more important role by manufacturing saddles, headcollars or other accesories. The farmer could produce food, that is perfect for domestic animals. The carpenter could build bigger carts only movable by Horses and furniture for a horsestable. Choosing the Hunter profession would be more appealing by adding a domestication speciality to tame horses and breed them (maybe even other animals). A horsestable could function as a additional room to gather skill points. And the best part is, that they do not cause pollution but on the other hand need alot of food.
Thanks for your suggestion! I've posted it to our Github https://github.com/StrangeLoopGames/EcoIssues/issues/7609
A setting to turn off particles and or a setting to reduce the distance at which they show or how many of them a block will create when interacted with [I.E. placed, broken, stored in a stockpile]. Even with a good machine the game can tend to lag when placing a lot of blocks at once, such as when you put items into a stockpile. I think having the option to turn off particles or at least control their quality would help a lot with performance in the game. Also, particles can mean a few things so to clarify I mean the dust effects and also small "blobs" when breaking or placing blocks. Hopefully this post gets enough love and we can get a new setting in the next update!
Thanks for the suggestions! I've filed them in our Github https://github.com/StrangeLoopGames/EcoIssues/issues/7570
