Ah, okay. I had used family share before when I had a public server so that I could have an account to play on that was separate from my admin account, I didn't know that wasn't supposed to work. I guess they don't want the additional sales it might bring when peoples family and friends like the game but can't play while the game is in use by the owner. Thanks for the reply.

No server play with steam family sharing anymore?
It's been a while sense I last played ECO, so I decided to give it another go, I rented a server just for me to play on, the server is currently password protected to keep anyone from signing in that I don't want signed in, My kids were thinking about the game so I was going to allow them to play on the server using family share so they can get a feel for the game after it has been progressed a little to see if they liked it or not, however it will not let them join the server, it keeps saying "invalid log in info". Is there a server setting that I have missed, or does ECO no longer allow you to use family sharing while playing online?
RE: Computer turns off at random intervals.
You don't state if he was playing ECO with no problems prior to the upgrade so I will assume that he was.
I would start by watching the heat of the CPU and GPU as well as making sure that the PSU has enough power to run everything at max. A lot of newer computers will power off if they get to hot, I have had games like ARK, cause a reset when the graphics card got too hot, ECO is more optimized than ARK but has Far more calculations to keep up with. Also if the PSU gets overloaded (components drawing more than its max power) that can cause a reset too, there is also the possibility that he has a faulty component, just because it was new doesn't make it 100% working.
He could also try putting the computer back the way it was and see if the problem is still there, if not, then upgrade one piece at a time until he finds the part causing the problem, but my guess is over heating or the power supply is too weak for what he has.
Games like watchdogs and The division are not really a good comparison to games like Eco, the environment of those games isn't as demanding on the RAM and GPU as they don't have destroyable worlds, I don't know about unturned as I have never played it. ECO does have a 100% destroyable world, as a result there are a lot more calculations that must be maintained by the computer also the amount of the calculations will changed based on what is loaded in the "chunks" that are currently loaded, an area of the map that has not been touched by a player will have far fewer calculations than a chunk that has been leveled out and has 10 factories making stuff.
RE: Vehicle Feedback
Hate to disagree with you, but there are many other things that would be far better in my opinion. I learned to drive a car by getting behind the wheel, I learned to drive a Skid Steer and a Excavator the same way, professional Training? nope, never had it and I was a lot better than some of the guys that had it.
Never used a hand plough but lets be real, how much training would you really need to push a blade in a strait line? as for the tractor, I have used real tractors with no professional training, lets face it, it's an oversized lawn mower with a PTO to the back, put it in gear, drop the attachment, engage the POT and drive. Takes practice to do a great job, but anyone can do it without any training.
That said, I do think that if you are not a Farmer then you should not be able to just up and use farming equipment without a penalty of some sort and the same with the Excavator, the skid steer, well, any joe blow can rent and use one just about anywhere in the US, granted they are no where near as strong as they are in the game but still.
I think linking the equipment to the associated Skill should be sufficient, but even that Idea I don't like as I am not a professional in any field that uses the above equipment, but yet I can, and have jumped on them and used them, I also 100% disagree with requiring a skill to be unlocked for the trucks, my 13 year old can get in the car and drive and she has never had any training on it.
Greenhouse and compost bin suggestion
I suggest adding a Placeable structure that you craft from lumber and glass on the saw table that would let you grow all planets and crops that you can get seeds for even if you are not in their biome, it would need fertilizer for fuel (and maybe add buckets, pipes and water pumps so that it could also need water that the player would have to use a bucket to add, or attach pipes and power a pump to get the water to it). If the fuel runs out the plants die and have to be replanted.
I also suggest a compost bin to allow players to take items/trash and turn them into fertilizer, Items/trash could be placed into the compost bin and would turn into contaminated dirt (or just dirt/compost) over time. To make fertilizer from the dirt/compost the player might have to add meat or vegetables (and water if that gets added to the game) to the bin.
Offline player time and unclaim land?
I originally posted this in General but I received no replies so I thought I might move it to here and see if anyone replied to it.
Is there a way to see how long a player has been offline and take their land back if they have been offline for a while? I have several players on the server I admin on that I'm fairly sure have not been online in more than 2 weeks, they have land claimed and partly built on, if they have not been online for more than 20 days I would like to remove their land claims so that some one else can use the areas but so far I have not been able to find out how to see when a player was last online or remove their claim to the land.
Thanks for any help.
