Can't get server online, and now it is failing to start!
-
Me and my friend bought this game. And we want to start our own server. But I can't manage to get the server online so he can play with me. How do I do that?
Also, when I start the server files, it crashes all the time. It started when I changed the IP adress for any to my Ip adress.
Need help. Have searched the internet with no luck. I have allowed the ports, and also changed some settings in the firewall.
Thanks in advance!

Can ya post a picture of the crash to see what the errors are, as well as letting us know what build/stage you are trying to use.
Doing this could allow someone who knows a lot about that error could speak up.Also may be overkill but if you didn't know : http://eco.gamepedia.com/Setting_up_a_server
Thanks!

My guess is your .NET is outdated. Try downloading this https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=53344

I checked the .NET, and I have the latest version.

I could be wrong, but it does look like it is a Socket error. Try turning you open back to any and see if it works again.

You said you changed it from any to another ip. Just change it back.
-
Yeah, but I did it from the server window that pops up when you start the server. I don't know how to change it back without the window opening.

I just deleted the server files, now it works. I can just start fresh.

Any ideas on how me and my friend can play on the same private server?

After doing all that I still can't get it online. Maybe my friend typed in the IP wrong. How should he write it? It says we need both the IP and port.

There are two ports that are used for the server. Assuming you've kept to the default ones these should be 3000 and 3001, so the ip should look like 111.222.33.44:3000 or 111.222.33.44:3001. Replacing the 111.222.33.44 with your IP, of course. If this still doesn't work, try checking the ports using http://canyouseeme.org/
