You can also do your roof with normal hewn logs. a hole for windows and door-holes without doors can be 1x2 or 2x1.
If you have the hammer selected, you can press shift und scroll up an down to switch between floor, stair, roof etc. You can also click on the symbol for hewn log that appears when you select the hammer.
If you dont get it, you can watch a youtube video.
Deeds are merged in the actual version, so this a your problem. Go buy it an download the right version.

How did ou get a campfire when you never had a campsite? However the campfire should be craftable at a workbench.

At first you need a workbench to get hewn log from normal logs.
You can only build walls, floor and roof with your hammer - otherwise you will only put them away to store them.
    Did you complete the tutorial?

    1. Why do you think that agriculture makes no sense in Singleplay? Maybe your planet is to big for you alone. At the moment ECO is much better for multiplayer. On a Planet with 0,54km with about 8 players, agriculture is absolutely essential. If you play longer, you will see, that agriculture is also very important in singleplayer, unless you want to travel half of your time. Otherwise you wont be able to cook better food.

    2. I would really appreciate a much bigger impact of pollution on the whole planet, instead of just a small area.

    3. At the moment you don't have effects, that you can't deal with, unless you eat the last ones of a few plants and throw away their seeds. But this will only happen once to you because next time you know, you have to care about it.
You dont need bison, because its just bigger than a hare, turkey, wolf and elk. Only the fox is special because it gives fur pelt.
If you lose all land animals you still have just a small problem. There is also fish, which is impossible to kill on the complete planet.

    4. Really? Players don't know whats good for them? Maybe you should not talk like this about people who played much more than you, especially when you know nothing about multiplayer. Railroads would have a very big impact on player to player economy. When you play some more hours, in multiplayer, you will get to know that economy is what makes people stay longer on bigger servers.

Yes, you can start your own server. You, as an admin, can disable the meteor or change the time to impact at any time if you want. You could also shut down your server, so no time is running, but noone will be able to be online. This won't be a problem, because you can change nearly everything during the game.

We have a game running where everyone has his own currency. Some collaborate and some don't. Everyone who starts a store should buy something very basic. A carpenter should buy logs, a mason should accept stone. You can also accept food, so the others can afford your items. But the whole thing only works on at least a medium difficulty where you can't do every job on your own.
It works - but not on every serversetting

If you wish to work closer together with a smaller group you can add a 2nd whitelisted shop where only some people can buy your goods for less or nothing.

@michaelsloan Eco is meant to be played in groups and it is really more fun with others.
you can play it alone, but i think you will soon get tired about that.
First you should start on a bigger open server to test the waters, and later you can team up with some people. you can find a lot of new servers here in the forum and in a community you will find out what eco is really about. gIve it a try

    Great work!
I would be interested in a small guide! Why dont you need any bricks? Does it work with dirt only? Does the water affect the moisture in surrounded soil?

    Hello everyone,
since i updated to 5.6 (equal on 5.6.1) every ground (dirt, sand, stone etc.) is just black and seems to be coal.
On 5.5 i did not have any issues, and still dont have when i start it now. I tried to delete and download it new, but its still the same. Also the problem continued on the actual 5.6.1.
I tried every option on the graphics menu, but nothing seems to work. does anyone have the same problems on mac or any solution for this problem?
    System is a macbook pro mid 2012, i7, 16gb ram, intel HD 4000/NVidia GT650M 1gb

atm we dont have any full grown camas plants but the naturally growing there have a yield rate of 2.
but i dont think thank all data in the soil sampler menu is reliable. For example i have some fern along a river, but with only 60% moisture. yield rate is 1. some give me a seed, some not but none of these give fiddleheads.
Maybe the yield rate is not that accurate as is seems.

Fertilizers are quite diffucult, and i do not understand them. Maybe someone can test out everything and write it all in the wiki...

The faming is actually not broken or anything. If you dont get enough output, you are not in the right place. There is no need to leave space between the plants. You can work a farm with 20x20 fields which each plant and you should get the plant output out of each plant. The only problem is that you dont get enough seeds from most plants, so you need the farming skill for that plant.
However some plants really need their desired moisture. Camas wont grow on land with more than 40% und fiddleheads are very hard to grow under 75% total moisture. The other plants seem much more flexible, but all work fine if you are in the right place.
