Server showing as "offline"?
I created a 4.2 sever on windows 10 and it shows as "offline" and none other than myself can connect to it. I have opened all the ports (2999, 3000 and 3001) in my router and windows firewall.
What's going on? Server is also set to public.
did you put it on public and do your friend connect it with the port suffix -> ip:3001 ?
and did you only open the port or did you a "Port forwarding"?
Yes I set to public.
Yes my friend uses :3001.
I opened the ports for my local IP, both UDP and TCP. When running port checker at http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ though, It says the ports are closed.
, It says the ports are closed.
Then you did not open it correctly.
Hm. I have been opening ports on this router many times and I have never had this issue :S
maybe a windows update turned on your windows firewall? happened to me before
Keep in mind you have to open ports 3000 and 3001 by default. You can change these to whatever you want if you've already opened another set of ports before.
I am working on a guide that teaches you how the network thing works and how to troubleshoot issues.
- Firewall is allowing ecoserver.exe.
- Ports 2999, 3000 and 3001 are open in my router.
wtf is going on xD
try disabling your windows firewall and see if it suddenly works. then you will know if that's causing it anyhow
When i understand it correct, you can connect from your local pc on the local server.
But people from outside your network are not.
You need to enable port forwarding in your router.
How could your router know what people from outside are trying to reach.
Normal other problems are firewal, windows firewall blocks stuff even when its allowed. Disable it, look if you have anti virus system with advanced network analyse tools, like norten system suit. This think have his own firewall system.
